About Incognitogram

Incognitogram is an independent tool for viewing public Instagram stories and posts anonymously. There is no app to install, no account to create, and no login wall. You type in a public username, and we show you what that account has shared publicly — without ever signing you in or leaving a trace of your visit on the other person's profile.

Why we built it

Instagram makes it surprisingly hard to look at a public profile on your own terms. The moment you open the app, you are logged in, your view is counted, and the platform ties everything you look at back to your identity. We wanted a calmer, more private way to read public content — the same way you might read a public blog or a news site without announcing yourself to the author.

Incognitogram started as a small project to scratch that itch and has grown into a tool used by people around the world, in eight languages. It is built and maintained by a small independent team, not by Meta, and it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc. in any way.

What we actually do

When you look up a public account, we fetch that account's publicly available stories, posts, and profile details on your behalf and display them here. Media is proxied through our own servers, so Instagram never sees your IP address or device. We only ever access content that is already public — we cannot and do not show anything from private accounts, and we do not bypass anyone's privacy settings.

Our stance on privacy

Privacy is the entire point of the product, so we hold ourselves to it too. You do not need to give us an email address or any personal information to use Incognitogram. We do not connect what you view to who you are. For the full technical detail of what is and is not recorded, see our Privacy Policy.

What we can't do

We are honest about the limits. Incognitogram only works with public accounts — if an account is private, nobody can see its content here. We do not notify you when someone posts, we do not store archives of anyone's feed, and we are not a way to recover content that has already been deleted from Instagram.
